Go deeper into the mind of some top designers by taking a look at some of their sketches at a fascinating arts event in Milan.

MILAN, ITALY, April 22, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Hand of the Designer will see a huge number of drawings and sketches by some top designers placed on display, leading to an auction by Sotheby's in Milan.

Travellers staying at accommodation in Milan have until May 9th to go and check out the collection of more than 450 items at Triennale Bovisa and Villa Nechi Campiglio, which have been signed by their creators.

During this time, people can place bids in specified boxes which could see them involved in the final auction.

Designs by more than 150 top professionals from Italy and other countries have been contributed to the exhibition, which was put together by Fondo Ambiente Italiano - an organisation set up in the image of the English National Trust.

Some of the designers with work on display at the event include Aldo Cibic, Carlo Bartoli, Alvaro Siza, Jerszy Seymour and Michael Graves.

The organisers explained: "The compiled drawings speak of the designers' personal approaches to an idea - be it one of form or function, or perhaps of a colour or a material."

Opening hours for the shows are Wednesday to Sunday 10:00 to 18:00 (local time) at Villa Necchi Campiglio and 11:00 to 21:00 from Tuesday to Sunday at Triennale Bovisa.

Entrance is free of charge at both venues.
