Distributor of Couture European Bridal Gowns Changes Name to Mercury Fashion Group
/Apparel News Articles/ - NEW YORK, NY, March 05, 2008 - Wholesale distributor Mercury Products, announces the renaming of its Silk and Lace brands division. The new name, Mercury Fashion Group, better defines the scope and objectives of the division. "The name change reflects our growing group of great European designers and the broad appeal they have found with American brides," says Ellie Peer-Greenberg.
Mercury, through exclusive arrangements, distributes European bridal fashion not otherwise available in the United States and Canada. North American companies that cater to brides can offer designs and craftsmanship previously only available in boutiques in Milan, Paris and Madrid.
A 45-year industry veteran, Mercury is delighted to offer American brides the designs of Novia d,Art, Josechu Santana, Antonio Riva and Penrose. "Each designer brings a unique vision and a mastery of design to each of their collections. We seek out only the best Europe has to offer," Peer-Greenberg adds.
Novia d'Art (The Art of the Bride) has been creating luxurious and innovative designs in Barcelona Spain since 1967. Always mindful of the company's 40 year tradition of creating beautiful gowns in Barcelona, the second generation of owners (Marta and Teresa Raich) work tirelessly to ensure the highest quality by using the finest materials.
Josechu Santana, one of Europe's most respected bridal couturiers, creates exqui¬site and unique gowns from his workshop in Oviedo on Spain's northern coast. Together with his wife, Maria Arguilles (designer and creative director), their handmade gowns combine impeccable style, old world craftsmanship and artisan details making every dress an everlasting memory for the bride.
Antonio Riva, from the historic lake town of Lecco in Italy, creates masterpieces from pure Italian silk. Lecco has always been being a crossing point between Cen¬tral Europe and the Mediterranean providing master artists like Antonio Riva with creative inspiration. His handmade gowns are assembled by ateliers and proudly bear the "Made in Italy" label.
The Penrose couture bridal lingerie collection was established in Bologna, Italy in 1993. Its lingerie has been featured on the covers of bridal magazines throughout Europe. Penrose is the first Italian designer of lingerie collections devoted entirely to the bride. The company has made a distinctive mark on the industry with its perfectly-fitted, sophisticated and seductive undergarments.
