/Apparel News Articles/ - February 25, 2008 - Spring is coming soon, and nowhere are the indications more telling than on the world's fashion runways. Hot and lush colors have been seen on the catwalks from Milan to London to New York and LA. The color blue has made a big splash among 2008's Spring fashion collections, with natural hues that seemed pulled from warm Caribbean waters. Oscar de la Renta, Joanna Mastroianni, Tracey Reese, Marc Bouwer, and Tuleh are among those designers who've found inspiration in "blue" with gorgeous new dresses that flatter the curves of a woman's body.
Providing a dazzling blue accent to this year's Spring frocks is California jewelry designer Carl Blackburn. Among the highlights of Blackburn's 2008 collection are diamond cocktail earrings handcrafted in 18k white gold and overflowing with 10.00 carats of aquamarine; Egyptian-inspired diamond earrings in 18k white gold with blue sapphires; an art-deco style pendant set dramatically with a 20+ carat blue topaz; and Blackburn's signature "Garden of Eden" earrings, featuring 8 one carat aquamarine drops. "I love working with these blue gemstones," says Blackburn. "They blend perfectly with diamonds to provide a lovely finish to fashion ensembles of any color, in any season."
Carl Blackburn's 2008 fine jewelry collection made its debut last month at Pearlman's Jewelers, whose fine jewelry includes collections from Beaudry, Gurhan, Michael B., Scott Kay, and many more of today's leading designers.
