Jungle boots were advertised on London Underground, so a small vegan shoe company has started making them
John Robertson of Veganline.com saw advertisements for the Imperial War Museum's Camouflage Exhibition, which show a prototype camouflage boot. Dispite the advertising, the boot is not on sale and may never have been made.
/Apparel News Articles/ - LONDON, ENGLAND, October 03, 2007 - With the help of a midlands shoe factory, Veganline.com now stocks the first eighteen pairs of its 36 pair order.
"I was lucky to be selling niche market shoes anyway", said John, "so I knew where to go"
"The boot factory has put a tremendous amount of work into this. It's becoming hard to source the cloth upper materials which have to be laminated together three rolls at a time. That's a lot of boots so they plan to come-up with a zebra camouflage boot just to use up the minimum cloth order"
Veganline.com has been trading since 1998 but joins a rash of new online services selling ethical, non leather or environmentally friendly footwear.
